Over the past two months, I have been bidding on many different writing projects. I have tried in Rent A Coder, Guru, Get A Freelancer and also Elance. Among all, I like Elance the most.

However, I am not here to tell you which one works the best. I want to share with you what you can do when you do not have enough time to write articles.

Now I want you to understand that I am not only a freelance writer. I am also a virtual assistant and at the same time, I am in the midst of building my own niche websites. I found out that being a freelance writer is really eating a lot of my time. With the topic I am not familiar with, I will need about one hour to write a 500 word article and each article is only $1.75. Yeah I know, I am a bit slow. When I am doing work as a virtual assistant, I am actually charging $10/hour and if I work for 5 hours a day, I will have more than enough to pay up my bills.

Since this is a new revelation to me and I cannot be so irresponsible to ignore the existing projects I have in hand, I have finally come up with a method that helps me to earn some money and yet I do not have to write the articles myself.

List. How important it is for us to list down what we need to do in life. Be it your dreams, your tasks, your shopping groceries, important dates, meetings and the list goes on.

I am not too sure if all successful people use lists in their lives but I know most business owners have at least one secretaries to help them remembers important tasks, dates and meetings. It simply tells me how important it is to have a list or at least someone reminds you of the lists of matters you need to deal with.

Here is why a list is so important in our lives:

• Our lists pretty much determine our life and priority.
• Our lists gives us that sense of identity and that sense of achievement.
• Our lists tell us how we have spent our life and how much time we have left.

I know a friend of mine has a habit of writing his dream on a paper, which is his dream list. The dream list will grow over time but I find it is a good way to keep your dream intact so that you can be focused with what you want to achieve.

In case you do not know, successful people only have one trait in common. It is the trait that got them to where they are and it is one trait many people know they should have but they failed to adapt for themselves.

I have to admit, I struggle with this big time and I am working on it. Just want to complain a little bit.

Recently, I have been looking for a writer from Get A Freelancer because I wanted someone else to write my blog posts and articles for a very cheap price.

I managed to get one and I paid USD$5 just to get his contact. I even paid him USD$15 via PayPal and he promised me to have my articles ready in 3 days. It has already been 2 weeks now and I still have not gotten my articles. Also, when I sent him emails, he sent me 2 emails giving me lame excuses. Now, I am not even getting emails from him.

He has successfully cheated my USD$15 but he lost his credibility forever.

I am sure I am not the first person who gets cheated by this so-called ‘writer’. There are also tonnes of cheaters out there and it is almost impossible for us to identify them.

In life, you will make a lot of mistakes and being cheated by others. When that happens, there are only two directions people choose to go:-

#1 – Give Up
When a person makes a mistake, it is easy for the person to have a victim mindset saying that he is not fit to do Internet business. I’ve tried that too.

In one occasion, I bought Ewen Chia’s Secret Affiliate Weapon for USD$9.97. I applied the strategy and it did not work for within the short period of time. I didn’t know what went wrong and I did not even bother to find out. After some time, I gave up because I did not see any result.

However, some people respond in a very different manner and this leads to my #2 direction.

#2 – Change Strategy
Later on, I tried many other different Internet marketing models hoping to find one that is suitable for me, at least I could really make money out of it. I even went to start new websites with other Internet marketers but the partnership did not work out.

One day, my friend introduced me to read Andrew Hansen’s Niche Marketing On Crack because he shows interests in partnership with me. So out of urgency, I read the ebook and tried to understand what niche marketing was all about. However, the partnership also did not last long because we were taking too long to put our niche sites up.

So I decided to start niche sites myself. I read Niche Marketing On Crack once again and applied everything written on the book myself. I spent a lot of time doing market research, writing articles, submitting articles and promoting my niche sites.

Deciding to start niche site myself is one thing, but the decision to stay focused on the same Internet marketing model is quite another. Once I’ve made the decision, I started to make money online and I started many more niche sites. Today, more than 45% of my niche sites I have started are making money.

Why am I telling you all this? Because it is important to stick to one Internet marketing model. To me, you will only see the fruits of your hand when you have put more than enough effort, time and energy on it. Most importantly, when you have found the right strategy to make it work, stick to it and it will only come after making lots of mistakes.

Recently, I have been finding out how to use Google Adwords to redirect my affiliate links without uploading a landing page to my FTP server. I got rejected for a few times and finally I’ve got it working just the way I wanted it.

This is why I am writing this blog post and I believe many of you are going to benefit from this blog post.

For the purpose of this blog post, I am going to use ABC product as with the URL of ABC.com to illustrate the whole thing.

For those who do not know, they will usually go for the following approaches:-

Direct Affiliate Linking
>> Display URL: www.ABC.com, Destination URL: xxxxx.abc.hop.clickbank.net
>> Display URL: www.YourDomainName.com, Destinaltion URL: xxxxx.abc.hop.clickbank.net

Redirect Affiliate With a PHP file
This is where you upload a php file that looks like the following:-

exit;
?>

If you do not know how to do this, you just need to copy the entire code above, paste in a notepad file and save as a “index.php”. Once you have done this, the next thing you do is to upload the “index.php” file to your FTP server under the “public_html” folder.

I bet many of you have been doing that too and there is only one result for this – Inaccurate Display URL.

Google would not allow you to do this kind of affiliate link redirection too.

So, here is the trick. In order to crack the code successfully, you need to allow a delay of 5 seconds before the visitor is being redirected. I don’t know how to explain this but to Google, it will not look like a redirection to them.

Here is the code:-

Do you see the difference? This is the code you are supposed to use for your Adwords PPC campaign.

After 4 – 5 times of being rejected by Google, they have finally approved my ad the moment I changed the redirecting PHP code to the above. My ad is now running and starting to bring in traffic for me.

“So what do you do for living?”, asked my friend.

“I am an Internet marketer and I work from home”, I replied.

“Wow! How does that work?”, he asked again.

“Um.. Er…”, leaving me speechless and unable to explain further.

Recently, more and more people asked me the same question over and over again. I find it tiring to explain what I really do. I mean this is something really unique about Internet marketers. What they do creates so much curiosity among so many people that they cannot help it but have the desire of wanting to know more about the nature of the business.

For example, when you tell others that you are a doctor, they would not ask how your doctor career works. The same goes to pilot, chef, selling computers or any other jobs, but not Internet marketer. This is also the fun of it. I really enjoyed when I see people wonder how Internet marketing works.

Alright, enough of stories. Let’s get down to real business.

The ‘thing’ I have been doing all this while is called Niche Marketing. It is one of the easiest ways to make money online.

In case you do not know what it means, it is simply a market within a market. For example, the car industry is a market, am I right? So a niche market in the car market could be selling car tires only. If you specialize in car stereo system, it is also a niche market already.

The best thing about niche marketing is that, you can go down as tiny as you can so that you specialize in a very specific area of the market. For example, selling Ferrari cars is also a niche market. Selling Ferrari Modena 360 is a niche market. I know one of the pioneer Internet marketers used to sell Ferrari Emblem when he first started and that’s the only thing he sold.

Those are the examples of what other people do. So, how do I do it then? I simply target brand names. That’s right, brand names.

Do you know which brand of deodorant you use? Do you know which mobile phone model you want to buy? It could be Romano Cool Deodorant or Sony Ericsson W550. I target buyers with the intention like you.

I started my first niche site last year October, with the intention to promote a software. I’ll just show you a case study of my very first successful product so that you’ll have a better idea of how it works.

Step #1: Find An Affiliate Program – I remember I was looking at this piece of software and it so happened that this software offers affiliates to promote its products. So I signed up as an affiliate and started another website just to promote this piece of software.

If you want to check whether or not a product has an affiliate program, all you have to do is to scroll down to the bottom of the page and see if there is an affiliate program, like the above.

So now I’ve got an affiliate program and I did a research whether or not it is worth promoting. The result was positive that was why I decided to invest in this product.

Step #2: Setting Up A Niche Site – The next thing I did was that, I registered a domain name and a web hosting with the intention to write a few reviews of this piece of software.

This is the niche site I have created with my own domain name and web hosting. As you can see, I have written a few blog posts and they are all reviews written in accordance to the piece of software I am promoting. Also, I’ve placed the banners on top and side, with my affiliate link hidden inside, with the intention of directing the visitor to the main merchant website. The main merchant website is where the visitors place their orders and make their transactions.

Step #3: Promote the Niche Site – Once I’ve put up my niche site up, the next thing I need to do is to bring in visitors. If you have no visitors, you have no sales.

No Visitors = No Sales

So visitors are very very important. My strategy is very simple.. I usually use articles, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and PPC. That’ll be enough to get me enough sales for each month.

One beautiful thing about niche marketing is that, you do no need a lot of traffic to come to your website in order to get affiliate sales. If you could get 10 – 15 unique visitors to come to your website each day, you are already doing great.

That looks very little visitors coming to my website, but that will be enough for me to earn affiliate commissions.

Step #4: Check Sales and Wait for Paycheck – Once you have done all the necessaries, the only thing you need to do is to wait for your sales to come in and receive paycheck. Some sent me money via paycheck and some via PayPal. For this website I have created, the affiliate merchant is sending me money via PayPal and it is in Great Britian Pounds (GBP).

Can you see how much I earned from one website? I earned GBP670.92. I know, this won’t be enough to buy you a bungalow, Ferrari or a trip to Europe but this is the start to everything you want to own in the future.

In this case, the merchant is paying me via PayPal. Below is one of the payments I received from the software merchant.

After that, I withdraw money from my PayPal account to my debit card account. This is how my income comes in.

Now that you already know how niche marketing works, at least the way I have been doing it. It is not easy, but it is not impossible. You just need the right strategy.
